Obama: TPP Will Reduce Human Trafficking

Today, President Obama told a town-hall of young entrepreneurs in Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam that the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal will reduce human trafficking in the region. Unfortunately, the leverage and reward elements of this policy haven’t been effective, as implemented with the U.S. State Department’s Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report and associated funding.
